Welcome! 

Welcome to CRRE and to the world of SPICE. My name is Teresa Palermo or Mrs. Palermo as students like to call me and I am the SPICE II Primary teacher. I have been an employee of Gilbert Public Schools since 2003 and have been teaching SPICE since 2010. I enjoy working in the SPICE program where the students are truly amazing, unique individuals who teach those around them, something new each and every day. They have much to share with our school community. Here is a brief overview of our SPICE II program according to the GPS district website: “Students in this classroom are close to grade level in academics, use communication independently, have adaptive skills that are close to age appropriate, and model and show an interest in peer activities. Inclusion experiences are prevalent with minimal adult support required. Instruction and support for group learning of social skills, language concepts, emotional regulation, and academics is available in the SPICE classroom.” We, at CRRE strive for each child’s individual academic success, foster positive social interactions, enhance communication skills, and build meaningful relationships in the educational environment. Together, we are “Coyote” strong!  

About Me

I was born and raised in the Dallas, Texas area and moved to Gilbert in 1990. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Tech University and my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I have both Elementary Education K-8 and Special Education Cross Categorical certifications.  I am a married mother of 3 children, 2 daughters and 1 son. My husband, our 3 children and myself are all ASU Sun Devils. GO DEVILS! I enjoy spending time outdoors, reading, crafting, and traveling both abroad and within the U.S. Most of my time is spent with my family which brings me great joy and happiness.
