Addie Lafferty-Beakley, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
My name is Addie Lafferty-Beakley and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist for the SPICE I and SPICE II programs at Carol Rae Ranch Elementary. The SPICE acronym stands for Social, Pragmatic, Independence, Communication, and Emotion regulation. Success within each of these 5 domains is what we encourage in our program at Carol Rae, and we work together as a team to best meet the needs of each unique student.
I am originally from Las Cruces, NM. I received both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees at New Mexico State University (Go Aggies!). While in NM, I worked for Las Cruces Public Schools, at CORE Rehab Center as a Pediatric SLP, and at NMSU as a Clinical Instructor. I moved to the Phoenix area in 2002 to pursue my Ph.D. at Arizona State University. I spent 8 years working at ASU, four years as a Doctoral Research Associate and four years as a Faculty Research Associate. After I left ASU, I started working for Gilbert Public Schools in the SPICE Program at Carol Rae Ranch. This is my 7th year with GPS and my 19th year as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
